Unraveling the Subconscious: Artist Statement
Subconscious thoughts and ideas are similar to a dream, bits and pieces come to you over time as you slowly visualise the entirety. Ideas are fleeting and well crafted concepts take development over time, therefore being able to unravel the information and compile it into a conceptual idea can be a challenge. Inspired by abstract and surrealist art, Unraveling the Subconscious is a compilation of ceramics, glass, and sculptural art that explores the ideas and concepts of my subconscious mind.
Working with a variety of materials, knowing which to use is one of the first obstacles to overcome. Each material carries its own physical and visual weight affecting the piece as a whole, combining multiple materials into a unified piece can be challenging yet satisfying. Color and luminosity are carefully used to compliment my art, light carries its own value by enhancing the color spectrum offering a heavier contrast from light to dark. The choice of materials along with the use of color and light brings an alluring perspective to the art. In the future I plan further explore the unity of combining multiple materials together to make cohesive works of art.

Circle of Clarity: Curator Statement
The Titan Student Union is proud to present “Circle of Clarity:
A Collaboration of Innovative Minds”. Circle of Clarity displays contemporary glass works featuring a variety of emerging artists from diverse disciplines, all relating to the expansive world of glass as a medium. The exhibition includes original works of blown, cast, stained, and sculptural glass, featuring artists from CSUF. Glass art at CSUF consists of a small group or community of talented artists; our group consists of animators, ceramicists, graphic designers, painters, and sculpture artists. Each work is not just a reflection of an individual’s inspiration, but of a dedicated team working together to bring a vision to life. There is a perpetual circle of exchanging knowledge, ideas, tricks, and skills which has developed all of our art exponentially. Circle of Clarity displays a collection of some of the best and brightest glass work from CSUF in 2018.
